Languages Beyond Borders is a project promoted by Carlo Maresca SpA and its art gallery YAG/garage. It is an artist residency in the city of Pescara involving six young artists from the African continent. The residency is enriched by a series of collateral events and a final exhibition event set up in the new ground -floor space at Via Caravaggio 125. 125. The aim of the project is to offer these artists the opportunity to engage with the Italian and European art system and to demonstrate the value and vitality of contemporary artistic practices emerging from Africa. It is a positive form of migration that enriches the local territory through opportunities for encounter and exchange, where contemporary artistic language becomes a cultural tool capable of fostering significant processes of cross-fertilization.

The project was made possible thanks to a Technical-Scientific Committee composed of Silvio Maresca, Ivan D’Alberto, Claudia Beretta, Roberto Sala, Martina Sconci, Maria Letizia Paiato, and Marco Brandizzi , and to the financial support of partners such as Bluserena, Valagro, Almaci, and Sexantio.
