Alterazioni Archive

The archive collects works created within twelve mental health centres operating in many regions of Italy, from Sicily to Piedmont. The works are created in care settings, where artistic practice develops as a space for expression, relationship and listening, giving shape to both individual and collective experiences.

The archive is configured as an open space, in which drawings, images and signs offer a variety of perspectives on the themes of fragility, perception, identity and otherness, bringing often marginalised experiences to light.

This archive collection represents the starting point for a larger project promoted by YAG/Garage. The works collected do not constitute an end point; they will form the basis of a contest that will involve young artists in a reflection on the theme of mental health through the languages of contemporary art.
