Alterazioni Open Call
Alterazioni is an artistic and cultural project dedicated to the theme of mental health. Developed as part of YAG’s commitment to supporting and promoting emerging contemporary art, the project aims to create a space for dialogue between artistic research, practices of care, and new ways of representing psychological distress.
The project was developed in collaboration with twelve mental health centres across Italy, from Sicily to Piedmont. Within these settings, people receiving care were invited to create artworks, which are now preserved in a permanent digital archive.
Through a national open call for artists under the age of 30 (as well as students enrolled in public and private Academies of Fine Arts across Italy), emerging artists were invited to engage with these works, fostering a dialogue between contemporary artistic research and practices of care, in which art becomes a space for listening, connection, and transformation.
Alterazioni positions itself as a space for dialogue and research, where contemporary art helps make visible experiences that are often marginalized, fostering a critical exchange between artistic practices, care, and new forms of representation.
Results of the Alterazioni Open Call
Following a careful evaluation of the submissions, the jury selected twelve artists whose work stood out for its quality and originality:

The selected artists will participate in the collective exhibition hosted at YAG/Garage and will be featured in the project’s annual catalogue.
In recognition of the outstanding quality of the submissions received, YAG/Garage has also decided to award a Special Mention to the following artists, who will also take part in the collective exhibition:
