YAG/garage in Pescara opens the new exhibition season with a Dialogue between two artists belonging to very different generations: Achille Perilli (Rome 1927 – Orvieto 2021) and Marco Poma (Turin 1992).
The former was a great Master of Italian abstractionism and an undisputed protagonist of the twentieth century thanks to the achievements of his pictorial research; the latter is a young artist from Piedmont who composes his works by combining minimalist architectures and metaphysical atmospheres.
The exhibition project offers a small tribute to Achille Perilli, featuring five works from the period of the “impossible geometries”, drawn from private collections, alongside a solo exhibition by Marco Poma, presenting a series of works that explore “anthropomorphic architectures.”
The exhibition will open on Saturday, February 26 at 6:00 pm and will be preceded, at 4:00 pm, by the preview Homage to Achille Perilli: a lecture featuring Marco Di Capua, Professor of Contemporary Art History and Phenomenology of Contemporary Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples —where he also serves as Coordinator of the Institute of Art History —and Ivan D’Alberto, historian and theorist of contemporary art as well as Director of YAG/garage.
