YAG Almanac

YAG Almanac is conceived as a permanent platform for documenting emerging artistic research.

Each artist is invited to present their practice through an Almanac Sheet, designed as a visual and narrative synthesis of their artistic journey, research, and body of work.

The project aims to build, over time, a living archive that reflects the diversity of languages, perspectives, and experiences shaping emerging contemporary artistic research.

Each year, YAG will invite emerging artists to participate in the Almanac, including through a national open call. The submitted contributions will become part of a permanent digital archive, freely accessible online and intended to grow with each new edition of the project.

YAG Almanac 2025 Results

The first edition of the YAG Almanac received a remarkable number of applications from across Italy. Following a careful selection process, the jury identified ten artists whose practices stood out for the quality, originality, and coherence of their research.

The selected artists will take part in a group exhibition at YAG/garage, presenting their Almanac Sheet alongside one or two works representative of their artistic practice.

  • Gioele Provenzano
  • Maria Neve Vallone
  • Anna Rita Lomazzo
  • Antonello Marchesi
  • Luca Leidi
  • Eva Fruci
  • Annunziata Di Lorenzo

In recognition of the exceptional quality of the submissions, YAG has also chosen to acknowledge a further group of artists by including their Almanac Sheets in the collective exhibition.

Regional Award Winners – First Edition

As part of the selection process, three Regional Award Winners were also chosen:

  • Gioele Provenzano – Northern Italy
  • Luca Leidi – Central Italy
  • Maria Neve Vallone – Southern Italy

Each Regional Award Winner will receive a studio visit, documented through a live-streamed feature, together with a critical essay written by the curator responsible for their respective geographical area.

The 2025 Almanac Sheets Digital Archive is now available online, preserving and making accessible all the contributions submitted for the first edition.

The archive is a core element of the project: a permanent and continuously evolving collection designed to expand over time while documenting the development of the artistic practices it brings together.

It is intended as a space for research, dialogue, and discovery, where diverse experiences, territories, and artistic perspectives can be connected, contributing to the creation of a shared record of Italy’s emerging contemporary art scene.
