Collettivo 1|10 concludes the second edition of Art Curator, a course dedicated to the training of Contemporary Art Curators, promoted by Associazione C.A.P.P.A. and held at the YAG/garage Gallery in Pescara, by presenting its collective project IMPURO | sostare nell’insoluto.

The group of curators gathered under the name Collettivo 1|10 is composed of Giada Ciarcelluti, Denise Cicconetti, Daniela D’Andreamatteo, Simona De Iuliis, Chiara Di Carlo, Benedetta Luciani, Maria Maffei, Gaia Monopoli, Simone Marsibilio, and Francesca Perniola.

The collective focused its attention on the theme of the impure as co -presence, as both a desire and an obligation to transcend dialogue with oneself. IMPURO is an asymmetric tension, a forcing and a loss of clarity of one’s own boundaries. The dimension of the unresolved is therefore investigated as a condition of uncertainty, ambiguity, and incompleteness, in which the interaction of the public becomes signi ficant as the binding soul of the transformative processes taking place.

The exhibition title IMPURO, characterized by the mixing of heterogeneous elements, directs attention toward the observation of a relational dynamic born within the Collective itself. Heterogeneous elements came into contact with one another within a shared space and were asked to s tep beyond their own boundaries to intermingle. Subsequently, the need emerged to dwell within the dimension of impurity, to remain unresolved, choosing instead to undergo an effort by pushing beyond the limits of the ordinary. This effort was addressed by introducing into YAG/garage a group of artists who bring their own reflections on the proposed theme, resulting in a multifaceted yet nonetheless authentic vision. A form of narrative that, through the interaction between curators and audience during the opening, invites reflection on how differences bring thoughts together, making them real.

The participating artists are Franz Cardone, Elena Cilli, Giuseppe Colangelo, Collettivo Contempostranea, Sara Dias, Jay D. Facchinetti, Alessia Iacovozzi, and Davide Sammarchi.

During the opening, composer and artist Davide Sammarchi will be present with a performance connected to the exhibition’s path; during the exhibition days, his composition will be played on a loop during opening hours. At the same time, during the vernissage, artist Sara Dias will present her interactive performance titled Problema di superficie starting at 6:00 PM. Collettivo Contempostranea will take part in the event with a performative action entitled Tra il dire e il fare Osare. Elena Cilli, Alessia Iacovozzi, Franz Cardone, Jailson D. Facchinetti, and Giuseppe Colangelo will be present with their selected works.
