Gianmarco Aquilani, born in 2000, is a photographer and visual artist based in Rome. He trained in Photography and Video at the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, after graduating from the “G. Misticoni” Art High School in his hometown. In 2023, he was selected for the group exhibition Focus on PHOTOGRAPHY – La giovane fotografia italiana at YAG/Garage, where one of his works entered the permanent collection.
His visual research investigates the intersection between memory and urban identity, using photography and video to evoke contemporary visual narratives. Active also on Instagram, his work reveals a refined aesthetic language, carefully constructed through a poetic exploration of the everyday. He is considered one of the emerging talents of the Roman photography scene, with a gaze capable of merging introspection and contemporary visual sensibility.
