Antonella Calabrese was born in Naples in 1990 and graduated with honors in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples. In 2008, she took part in the group exhibition Arti estrem…i with a photographic series shown at Castel dell’Ovo in Naples. In 2009, she held the solo exhibition Inquiete coscienze at Mercurio Arte Contemporanea Gallery in Viareggio, presenting mixed media works combining acrylic, enamels, sand, and digital prints.
In 2019, she created the project Cubo d’Artista for the Giardini d’Arte in Pescara: a conceptual sculpture in barbed wire with a black balloon, a reflection on human fragility and liberation of the self. In 2023, she took part in the group show Arte Sostantivo Femminile at the PAN – Palazzo delle Arti Napoli, featuring twenty Italian women artists selected by Daniela Wollmann. Her poetics investigate the human soul through expressive spaces and materials, marked by an essential and ironic touch. She lives and works between Naples and central Italy, maintaining a dialogue with cultural institutions, galleries, and independent art initiatives.
