Marine Hovakimyan is an Armenian photographer and visual artist specializing in documentary reportage and social research. Raised in Yerevan, she has collaborated with the 4Plus Center, a platform dedicated to documentary photography in Armenia, producing projects that give voice to stories of borders, trauma, and resilience. Her photographic series – also published online – address themes such as the female condition, conflict, and collective memory, with an intimate and poetic style. Marine was selected a mong the ten international authors featured in the exhibition La fotografia, un doppiofondo del vissuto (YAG/Garage, Pescara 2024), representing Armenia with powerful images capable of “illuminating the various traits of the human condition,” according to curator Paolo Dell’Elce. After relocating to Europe, Hovakimyan continues to exhibit her work in intercultural contexts, using photography as a means of anthropological inquiry and as a bridge between cultures.
