Selome Muleta (born January 8, 1992, in Ethiopia) is a painter based in Addis Ababa, trained at the Abyssinia Fine Art School (2012) and Entoto Polytechnic College (2013 –2014).
Her work presents evocative interiors in which women and objects coexist in a poetic duality between portraiture and still life: subtly suggested or cropped faces, fluid brushstrokes, and color palettes that merge environment and human presence. Following solo exhibitions such as Tsédal (Inner Radiance) (Addis Fine Art, 2020) and Collapsing Space (London, 2022), she has also exhibited in London, Basel, and Cologne, and her works are part of permanent collections in Oslo, Denver, and Cardiff. Muleta’s poetics are suspended between intimacy and inner reflection, where rooms become a stage for subtle, silent emotions.
