Papay Solomon, born in 1993 in Guéckédou, Guinea, and based in Phoenix, uses hyperrealist painting to tell stories of the African diaspora. Educated in the United States, he has exhibited at the Tucson Museum of Art (Ivory Arbery), received awards such as the Emerging Artist Grant from the Phoenix Art Museum and the Erni Cabat Award (2018), and held a solo exhibition in 2020.
