Maria Korporal is an artist born in 1962 in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands. She studied graphic design and painting at the St. Joost Academy of Fine Arts in Breda. After moving to Italy in 1986, she worked as a painter and graphic designer before turning her focus to digital technologies and video art in the 1990s.
Her artistic practice centers on the integration of images, sound, video, installations, and performance, with the aim of actively engaging audiences. Her works often address social and environmental issues, making use of immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.
Since 2013, she has been living and working in Berlin as an independent artist and web designer. Her works have been exhibited internationally and have received numerous awards. She is also a member of the Verein Berliner Künstler and of the Berlin-based gallery Group Global 3000, which is committed to exploring the relationship between art and sustainability.
