Aldo D’Amato

Aldo D'Amato (Comiso, 2001) lives and works between Acate (Ragusa) and Catania. His artistic research seeks to rediscover, within contemporary nature, the sense of the absolute and the primordial that has been lost in the modern age but has existed since the dawn of time, using abstraction as its primary language.
This approach also carries political and environmental significance, advocating for a shift beyond anthropocentric perspectives. In his work, nature acquires spiritual and contemplative value through its vegetal and mineral elements—dimensions long relegated to the margins by the humanities and human-centred philosophies—which come to embody a sense of the eternal and the absolute.
In 2024, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania, where he is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Painting and Contemporary Languages.
