almanacco yag

YAG/garage presents Almanacco YAG, a multi-year project that, through an annual open call,
involves Under 30 artists, starting with students enrolled in the second-level (MA) programs of
Italian Academies of Fine Arts. The initiative was created with the aim of enhancing emerging
artistic research, offering a space dedicated to the documentation, sharing and dissemination of
new contemporary art practices, while gradually building an increasingly articulated map of the new
artistic generations.

At the heart of the project is the Almanacco sheet, an A3-format composition that each artist is
invited to create as a visual and narrative synthesis of their most recent research path. It is an
opportunity to reflect on one’s own practice, define its directions, and transform it into a
communicative device capable of conveying identities, languages and visions.

A jury will select up to 100 proposals, which will be published online within a permanent digital
archive
in constant expansion. Among these, 10 artists will be chosen to take part in a group
exhibition in the gallery spaces, while three winners—one for each geographical area—will
receive a dedicated studio visit and a critical text curated by the territorial representative.

With Almanacco YAG, the gallery aims to support and give visibility to the research of new
generations, building over time an open place of exchange and memory, where ideas, aesthetics
and processes can emerge, layer and engage in dialogue year after year.
