Andrea Bolognino, born in Naples in 1991, trained between the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples and the Kunsthochschule Weissensee in Berlin. His artistic practice integrates drawing, sculpture, set design, and installations, and between 2015 and 2019 he co -founded the experimental festival La Digestion.
In 2022, he presented the solo exhibition Cecità, accecamento, oltraggio at the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, engaging in a dialogue with Brueghel through drawings and reflections on visual perception. In 2023, he exhibited I Giganti at Galleria Acappella (Munich/Naples), and in 2024 he returned with Osservatorio, focused on still life and visual mapping.
His research examines the contemporary gaze between analogue and digital, employing scanners, interactive media, and visual technologies. He collaborates with the worlds of dance and theatre, designing sets and costumes, including for the Venice Biennale D anza (2020) and the MANN in Naples (2023). He lives and works between Naples and Munich, exploring the boundary between visual art, science, and performance.
