Can Akgümüş was born in 1987 in Ankara and earned a degree in Economics from Selçuk University. He uses photography as a medium to explore personal and collective memory. In 2013, he won first prize at the Bursa Fotofest Dummy with Öteki Bosna. In 2016, he held his first solo exhibition, Yutulmuş, at Artnivo Project Space in Istanbul. He later presented Terminal in 2021–2022 and Great Dream in 2022 at Kairos Gallery. In 2024, he showcased Silhouettes of Time in Istanbul in a duo exhibition with Ümmühan Yörük. He lives and works between Ankara and Istanbul, actively engaging with the Turkish art scene.
