Collettivo Afedia

AFEDIA Collective was founded in L’Aquila in 2019 through the meeting of Alessandra Condello (photographer and art director) and Diletta de Santis (actress and performer), with the participation of other collaborators. The group works with photography, video, performance, and installations to explore abandoned landscapes, natural sites, and the dissonances between space and experience. Among its most notable works are the video Euridice (winner of the Sharky Award 2019) and Quarantine (winner of ApertaMente 2021), as well as the photographic series Ex OP, a finalist in the 2020. Un luogo per Zerobook competition. The collective was selected as part of the “Scuola Abruzzese” for the second edition of YAG/Garage Italia, curated by YAG/Garage Pescara, and participated in both the virtual exhibition and the subsequent group show at the gallery. Their works reflect symbolism tied to abandonment, collective memory, and the dialogue between visual anthropology and the territory. Their aesthetic is marked by a syncretic approach blending traditional, performative, and digital media, with a focus on urban imagery and narrative thresholds.
