Daniele Di Girolamo (Pescara, 1995) is a visual artist working between Italy and Sweden (living and working between Pescara and Malmö). He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and later at the Malmö Art Academy (Sweden), developing a practice focused on multimedia installation. His works combine sound, kinetic sculpture, industrial and natural materials, found objects, photography, and video. Sound is often a central element: Di Girolamo creates immersive environments in which noises and vibration s (sometimes produced by mechanisms built into the works) establish a poetic dialogue between organic and artificial elements. This poetics is evident, for example, in the installation Sending a Letter for Sanding Words (2022), presented at the Quadriennale di Roma’s Portfolio exhibition, where the movement of marine sand in rotating tubes generates a hypnotic sound similar to flowing water.
