Danila Ilabaca Argandoña (Chile, 1991) is a graphic and visual artist specializing in both analog and digital collage. Her research stems from travel and the collection of visual materials —magazines, atlases, and everyday objects—which she reinterprets to “erase visual borders” through layered compositions. She has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in Chile, Mexico, France, and the United States, earning recognition including mentions from the Museo de la Memoria and the Premios Pulsar. Her project Calendario (2017), shown at Centex Valparaíso, featured 30 daily collages made from materials gathered in India, Japan, Ecuador, and other locations. In 2018, she presented Vacaciones en Pangea in Santiago, an imaginary atlas recombining images collected during her global travels. In 2020, her work was included in Radical Reimaginings by the Kolaj Institute (USA). A member of the collective “Pésimo Servicio,” she lives and works in Valparaíso, exploring popular graphics, visual politics, and cultural syncretism.
