Evgenia Tolstykh (Ekaterinburg, 1990) is a Russian photographer active between Italy and Russia, known for her emotionally charged images. Graduated in visual communication, she debuted in her home country with group exhibitions, exploring portrait and street photography in post-Soviet metropolises. Moving to Italy in the late 2010s, she continued her artistic career collaborating with blogs and creative platforms.
In 2024, she was selected for La fotografia, un doppiofondo del vissuto at YAG/Garage (Pescara) as a representative of the Russian school of contemporary photography. In this international exhibition, Tolstykh presented intense images probing urban solitude and everyday spirituality, in line with the introspective direction given to the event by its curator. Her photographs—melancholic and cinematic in tone—have been compared to paintings for their narrative richness.
Evgenia continues to exhibit between Milan and Moscow, pursuing personal research on latent emotions and establishing herself as a cultural bridge between the Russian and Italian art scenes.
