Evgeniya Nikolaeva Hristova (Bulgaria, active in Italy) is an engraver trained at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia and refined her technique at the Fine Arts Academies of Macerata and Urbino, where she earned her Second-Level Academic Diploma in 2012.
She has taught at prestigious Italian academies (Carrara, Florence, Venice, Viterbo, and Bologna, where she currently teaches Printmaking Techniques). She has participated in international biennials and acclaimed graphic art exhibitions; her printmaking alternates between formal rigor, engraver’s materiality, and narrative symbolism. In 2023, she received the prestigious Jean Asselbergs Prize from the Fondation Taylor (France). Her poetics engage with matter, mark, and the memory of paper as a visual and t actile medium.
