Kimberly Wetzel (she/her) is an American artist based between Minneapolis and Bismarck. She earned her BFA in Painting & Drawing from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 2017. Her visual work blends abstraction on canvas and paper with multimedia performance, evoking concepts of home, nostalgia, and atmospheric chaos inspired by the North Dakotan landscape. She has participated in residencies including Art in Motion and Grand Marais Art Colony, and has exhibited in group shows such as Closed Door, Open Field at Northeast Sculpture Gallery (August 2024). Her work—marked by intense gestural expression and traces of environmental memory—has received recognition, including the Jerome Hill Fellowship (2023 –25).
