Marco Poma, born in Chivasso (TO) in 1992, attended the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin from 2013 to 2019, specializing in traditional printmaking techniques.
In 2017, he spent an Erasmus period at the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, where he deepened his exploration of experimental approaches to printing. After completing his studies, he moved to Florence in 2019 for a two-year program at the Il Bisonte Foundation, where he also began working as an assistant and lecturer in 2021.
His visual research addresses themes of waiting and silence: he employs engraved graphemes that evoke a soundless visual score, creating images that translate mark-making into a contemplative rhythm. He has exhibited in numerous Italian and international g roup shows, including the Biennale d’Incisione in Spain, the Print Biennial in Serbia, the Fibrenus Prize, and DIALOGHI #7 at YAG/Garage (2022). He has received prestigious awards such as the First Atlante Prize (A Coruña, 2020), the Fibrenus Prize (2021), and the Arte in Arti e Mestieri Prize (Suzzara, 2021).
He currently works and teaches in Florence, contributing to the training of a new generation of printmakers with a refined and meditative approach.
