Maria Pavlovskaya, born in 1975 in Skopje (former Yugoslavia), earned her BA (1999) and MA (2001) in Fine Arts from the University of Skopje, completing a PhD in Cultural Studies in 2016.
Her works—paintings, sculptures, and drawings—have been presented in over 30 solo exhibitions and more than 100 group shows across North America, Europe, and Asia, including Art Basel Miami, Kunsthalle Vienna, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje. Widely recognized for an expressive black-and-white style, her works are part of institutional collections and international galleries. Her language merges academic rigor and visual experimentation within a global scope.
