Mariarita Ferronetti (Naples, 2000) is an Italian visual artist who lives and works in Naples. She earned a Master's degree in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, developing an interdisciplinary practice that moves fluidly across sculpture, installation, and visual art.
Her work unfolds along two main lines of inquiry. On the one hand, she investigates human sensitivity and suffering, drawing on psychology and psychoanalysis to reveal emotions that often remain unseen. On the other, her practice addresses urgent human, social, and environmental issues through a critical perspective.
Within this second area of research, she has developed a particular interest in gender studies. Building on a thesis centred on ecofeminism, her current artistic practice explores women's social contribution and their complex relationship with subjects conventionally regarded as taboo.
Rather than favouring a specific material or technique, Ferronetti selects the most appropriate medium for each project, freely experimenting with sculptural processes, installation, and other visual languages. Every work emerges from an extensive phase of theoretical research and critical analysis, aiming to engage deeply with the psychological and emotional dimensions of both subject and context.
