Matteo Messori, born on April 23, 1976, in Bologna, has pursued a distinguished career as a harpsichordist, organist, ensemble director, musicologist, and teacher.
He studied with masters such as Franca Fogli, Sergio Vartolo, and Umberto Pineschi, earning honors in both harpsichord and organ. In 1998, he won the “G. Gambi” National Harpsichord Competition in Pesaro, and subsequently founded the ensemble Cappella Augustana. He has received recognition for his recordingsparticularly of works by Heinrich Schütz and Bach—and has taught at prestigious Italian conservatories, establishing himself as a leading interpreter of the Baroque repertoire.
