Nicholas Tolosa was born in Eboli (SA) in 1981. He developed extensive artistic experience, graduating first in 1999 from the Academy section of the Liceo Artistico Statale “Carlo Levi” in Eboli —the same year he founded the hip-hop group 4K with his brother—and later earning a first-level degree in Set Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples in 2005. In 2007, he obtained a Master’s in Cultural Heritage Management. In 2011, he completed a second-level specialist degree in Visual Arts and Performing Ar ts, with a focus on Theatre Set Design, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. In 2012, he was appointed Adjunct Professor in Art History at the same academy.
In 2014, he exhibited in Naples, first with a solo show at Castel dell’Ovo and then at the Madre Museum. In 2015, he showed his work at the Art Gallery of the Mostra d’Oltremare and later at the PAN in Naples for the 30th anniversary of Giancarlo Siani’s death. In 2019, he launched his public project Nafricapoli and participated in a group exhibition organized by the Madre Museum of Naples at the Castello Macchiaroli in Teggiano (SA), curated by Andrea Viliani and Silvia Salvati.
In 2020, he held a solo exhibition in Naples at the Church of San Severo al Pendino. In 2021, he presented two more solo shows—first at the MAV in Ercolano (NA) and then at the Museo del Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio in Boscoreale (NA). His works are included in various permanent collections of museums and foundations, including the Madre Museum in Naples.
