Paola Lucrezi

Paola Lucrezi, born in Naples in 1991, specialized in Printmaking in 2019 at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, later completing a one-year program at the prestigious Il Bisonte Foundation in Florence. Since 2016, she has been active in national and international group exhibitions, participating in notable competitions such as the Biennale d’Incisione in Monsummano and the Fibrenus in Sora. In 2020, she undertook a residency at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, where she explored less toxi c printmaking techniques. She currently lives and teaches in Florence, combining teaching with her artistic practice.
Her work investigates the balance between control and chaos, embracing “error” as a narrative element and a space of indeterminacy. Among her main works are titles such as Il buio fa enormi le cose, Il tempo denso, L’abitante, and Apnea. Paola structures her figurative language around visual “slips,” that is, omissions and substitutions that create narrative voids and interpretive space for the viewer.
