Sam Larom, born in Seoul in 1995, earned a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2019 and is now based in the vibrant art scene of Minneapolis. His works, created using mixed media —acrylic, oil, ink, and charcoal—take shape as abstract, layered compositions that explore inner landscapes and emotional fragments. Among his 2020 and 2021 works are Landscape No. 2, Microscopic Universe (I Felt The Feeling), and Compounded Insight Into Circular Directions, all of which testify to an ever-evolving visual language. The strong material presence of his canvases—often leaning toward gesture and mark-making—reflects a relentless search for balance between chaos and control. His artistic practice investigates the very nature of painterly matter, merging it with conceptual suggestions that provoke introspection. In a personal and experimental logic, Larom continues to push the boundaries of the contemporary, combining form al rigor with emotional immersion.
