Sebastián Contreras, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, began his artistic training at the Centro Cultural Rojas and the Academia de Bellas Artes, focusing on drawing, painting, and stone sculpture. He worked as a restorer on major church and convent sites in the Argentine capital.
In 2001, Sebastián decided to move to Italy, leaving behind a career in veterinary medicine to earn a degree in DAMS Art at the University of Bologna. In the same city, he attended the Scenography course at the Arena del Sole. Since 2007, he has collaborated as an Italy correspondent for Revista Habitat Argentina, writing about contemporary restoration.
He currently lives and works between Pescara and Buenos Aires.
