Uğur Ömer Pekince (born in 1993 in Ankara) is an established sculptor on the contemporary Turkish art scene. A graduate of Hacettepe University, he has won major awards such as the Akbank 40th Contemporary Artists Award and the Anka Foundation Sculpture Competition in 2022. His works in metal, papier-mâché, and industrial materials—exhibited at YAG/Garage International (2023) and in other venues such as BAS No.2 explore space, memory, and the relationship between body and architecture. Pekince’s poetics refl ect a tension between ruin and structure, monumentality and fragility.
