Valentina Equizi is a visual artist born in L’Aquila in 1988. Her practice moves fluidly across different artistic languages—including photography, printmaking, drawing, installation, and performance—drawing on personal experience while engaging with universal themes. She explores issues related to memory and landscape, understanding both as intimate, collective, and political frameworks. Her research is oriented towards an inner dimension, exploring remembrance, thresholds, and practices of care and solidarity.
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including “Focus on PHOTOGRAPHY – Young Italian Photography”, held at YAG/GARAGE in Pescara, the Contemporanea Prize in Tagliacozzo, and the 21st Biennial of Contemporary Art in Penne.
She studied Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts of L’Aquila and specialised in contemporary photobooks with the publishing house Yogurt. She completed an extended internship at MAXXI L’Aquila, where she deepened her knowledge of contemporary art. She also works regularly as a graphic designer with the Fondazione Giorgio de Marchis Bonanni d’Ocre in L’Aquila.
