Valeria Messina is an emerging artist who studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo.
Her artistic research originates from the observation of traces, understood both as marks left in space and as elements through which to question one's own presence. These traces become interpretative tools, capable of revealing temporalities, spaces, movements, suspensions, stories, choices, and identities.
In the most recent developments of her practice, her attention has shifted towards the relationship between perception and temporality, exploring how we inhabit and observe a space-time that extends beyond the limits of direct experience.
Her creative process is built through practices of annotation, archiving, and image stratification, combining notes, drawings, written text, pins, and painterly interventions into layered visual compositions.
