Associazione Culturale TRAleVOLTE and YAG/garage are pleased to present the exhibition LIMEN by Cristina Falasca and Davide Viggiano. The exhibition project, curated by Maila Buglioni and Ivan D’Alberto, is the result of a collaboration between the Roman space and YAG/garage, the contemporary art gallery based in Pescara.

Both artists present new, previously unseen works focused on the theme of the “boundary” and the “limit,” understood both as a physical place and as an abstract one. The choice of the term LIMEN arises from the affinities identified in the artistic production of the two authors, in which an evident interest emerges toward that social energy which gives force to movements of change and transition. The concept of liminality was first introduced by Arnold Van Gennep, who was engaged in investigating themes of marginality and the a cceptance of individuals belonging to non-conventional social categories. Van Gennep speaks of rites of passage from one condition to another through the transformation of one’s “skin” or “armor.” Our body, characterized by a thin epidermis, can prove to be as hard and impenetrable as the shell of a turtle: a material limit that, more often than not, reveals itself to be mental. Cristina Falasca and Davide Viggiano explore this subtle boundary between inside and outside, between thought and matter.

• The 18th Giornata del Contemporaneo, promoted by AMACI, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

• RAW Rome Art Week, the Contemporary Art Week, taking place from October 24 to 29, 2022, following the 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM schedule.

On the occasion of the exhibition vernissage, Casale del Giglio, a winery founded in 1967 by Dino Santarelli, will offer a tasting of its wines.
