Antonello Marchesi

Antonello Marchesi, born in Sassari on 28 June 2000, is a Sardinian artist. In 2025, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari, where he is currently pursuing a Master's degree in the same discipline. During his academic studies, he has also served as a Sculpture Studio Tutor.
His artistic research focuses on the role of identity and fiction as vehicles of reality, exploring these concepts through a metaphysical sculptural language. His practice is rooted in the reinterpretation and reinvention of tradition. Working closely with the cultural and social realities of his region, he moves fluidly between traditional techniques, multimedia installations, environmental works, and playful mechanised sculptures.

His work often develops through the interplay of contrasts—such as the use of shadows to give form to the invisible—and reflects on fiction as a bearer of absolute reality. By engaging with narratives of the past, he investigates the notions of collective and anthropological memory. He currently lives and works in Sardinia, where he pursues his artistic research both independently and as a member of the Trama collective, with the aim of creating meaningful connections between historical roots and contemporary artistic languages.
