Elia Valeo

Elia Valeo was born in Catanzaro in 2000, where he lives and works. After completing classical high school, he pursued visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro, graduating in 2025 with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. During this period, he developed a strong interest in printmaking, particularly woodcut, which has become a defining element of his artistic practice.

He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sculpture at the same Academy, expanding his research towards a more experimental approach and an open dialogue with space. His engagement with sculptural practice has led him to explore not only installation but also performance, understood as a means of activating space through the presence of the body.
In 2025, together with Eva Fruci, he co-founded Collettivo 48. His work addresses social issues through a critical reflection on the relationship between the individual and the urban environment. He investigates the concepts of reciprocity and recognition as political acts, identifying cultural vitality as an essential factor in the quality and liveability of places.
