Alessandro Di Massimo is an Italian visual artist born in 1983, with a degree in Set Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
His research focuses on the deconstruction of iconography and the collective imagination, using them as tools for critique and analysis.
Through familiar elements such as popular songs, flags, maps, and historical materials, Di Massimo questions the architecture of social constructs, symbolism, and iconography, reorganizing them into new interpretations of contemporary society.
In 2020, he founded the curatorial project Celeste, launching the exhibition program LAVAPIU, a contemporary art showcase hosted in a laundromat.
His work includes drawings, sculptures, and installations using materials such as plaster, spray paint, oil, and collage.
His pieces explore themes such as identity, memory, and social criticism, often through the representation of stylized figures and recognizable symbols.
