Contempostranea is an Abruzzo-based collective active since 2019, founded by artists interested in intertwining performance, installation, text, and environmental sculpture. Their aesthetic explores participatory art practices, focusing on visual thresholds, the body, and relational narration, with a syncretic approach that brings together gesture, material, and urban space.
The group took part in the exhibition Impuro / Sostare nell’insolito at YAG/Garage in Pescara (15–30 April 2023), presenting the collective performative action Tra il dire e il fare – Osare (curated by Collettivo 1|10). Individual members (such as Giuseppe Colangelo, Sara Díaz, Jay D. Facchinetti, and Alessia Iacovozzi) also participated with independent projects, contributing to a dense expressive geography connected to the territory and the Abruzzo artistic network.
The collective is also present at Artinvita Biennale (Abruzzo 2024) with installations such as Appartenenza, which investigate memory, territory, and contemporary habitability. Their practice reflects an interest in urban residues, fragile territories, and poetic interactions with public and natural spaces, seeking to transform art into a shared experience and a form of cultural activation.
