Evaluation Jury

Ivan D’Alberto was born in Pescara in 1979. He is a historian and contemporary art critic and currently serves as Director of YAG/garage.
He was Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Nocciano (Pescara) from 2009 to 2012.
He has collaborated with Dartmouth University (Massachusetts, USA), the University of Ferrara, the University of Chieti, and the Academy of Fine Arts in L’Aquila. He has taught Art Marketing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples.
Since 2011, he has been the curator of CORPO – Festival of Performing Arts and the founder of the Archiving and Promotion Center of Performing Arts in Pescara.
He has curated numerous exhibitions, including Made in Abruzzo: Regional Research in Video Art (Milan, 2011), Integumenta Angelii: Useful Teachings for the Soul and the Body (Rome, 2013), audĭentĭa – A Listening City (Rome, 2014), as well as several collateral events to the Venice Biennale (CORPO 2015, Vitraria Glass + A Museum, Venice 2015; CORPO 2017, Island of San Servolo, Venice 2017; Young Artist in the Hotel, Island of San Servolo, Venice 2019).
He has collaborated with several art magazines, including Artribune, Juliet Art Magazine, and Rivista Segno.
He has published several books, including CORPO estraneo/straniero. History of Performing Arts in Abruzzo (Verdone Editions, 2015), Il terzo occhio (PrimeVie Editions, 2015), Tutto è iniziato prima (Di Felice Editions, 2017), and the conference proceedings Il corpo che abito. Gender Identity and Its Transitions. Analysis of Contemporary Performative Languages (Nicomp L.E. Editions, Florence, 2016).

 

Silvio Maresca was born in Teramo in 1961 and graduated in Political Science from the University of Bologna “Alma Mater Studiorum”. He is the General Manager of Bluserena S.p.A., one of Italy’s leading hotel companies.
He is the CEO of Carlo Maresca S.p.A., a group that for over forty years has been active in the tourism hospitality sector, as well as in residential and commercial real estate, and since 2010 in the renewable energy sector. He is also an administrator of Terme di Torre Canne S.R.L., a spa facility accredited by the Italian National Health System, and Chairman of My.Ho Casa S.R.L., a tourism company offering the “widespread apartment” as an innovative accommodation model.
In the non-profit sector, he founded and presides over the social promotion association Etipublica, which manages and participates in projects aimed at fostering public debate (Proversi.it), promoting open government (Openpolis), and analysing regional public debate (promisechecking.it).
Since 2009, through Bluserena S.p.A., Silvio Maresca has supported Permicro, a microcredit organisation, contributing to the opening of offices in Pescara, Palermo, and Lecce. In 2018, he launched the “Migrants Project”, which provides training and integration programmes within his companies for migrants. As part of this initiative, the company received the “Welcome. Working for Refugee Integration” award from UNHCR – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
His interest in the art world led him in 2017, through Carlo Maresca S.p.A., to create the project “I Giardini d’Arte di Via Caravaggio”, a competition open to young artists from various Italian Academies of Fine Arts, featuring exhibitions of their works in the gardens of the company’s headquarters in Pescara. In 2018, “I Giardini d’Arte di Via Caravaggio” was joined by YAG (Young Art Gallery), a project dedicated to the enhancement and promotion of emerging artists, of which Silvio Maresca is founder and administrator.

 

Maurizio Coccia was born in Pavia and currently lives in Trevi. He was Director of the Trevi Flash Art Museum and is currently Director of the Palazzo Lucarini Contemporary Art Center in Trevi.
He is an independent art critic and curator, and a consultant for numerous institutions in the fields of public art, architecture, and museum education. He teaches History of Contemporary Art and History of Art Criticism at the Academy of Fine Arts in L’Aquila, and also teaches History of Art Criticism at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia.
Maurizio Coccia is a member of the Steering Committee of the journal Parol – Quaderni d’arte e di epistemologia. He has published Una rivoluzione non richiesta (Aracne Editore, 2014), Cesare Cesariano. Ricomposizione di un problema critico (Aracne Editore, 2015), and Il leone imbrigliato. Artisti, istituzioni, pubblico (Castelvecchi, 2019). His writings have also appeared in volumes published by Gangemi, Gli Ori, Postmedia Books, among others.
In 2016, he served on the Scientific Committee responsible for the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.

 

Alessandra Arnò is an artist, curator, media art lecturer, and creative advisor. She is co-founder and Art Director of Visualcontainer – Italian Video Art Platform (est. 2008), which includes the first Italian video art distributor (est. 2008), VisualcontainerTV, an international video art web channel (est. 2009), and [.BOX] Videoart Project Space, based in Milan (est. 2010).
Since 2008, as Art Director, curator, and researcher of these projects—focused on experimental audiovisual practices and new media research—she has been developing cultural exchange programmes with international festivals, museums, universities, and public and independent art organisations worldwide. In this context, she represents and curates the work of more than 80 Italian and international artists through the Visualcontainer distributor.
She is frequently invited to give lectures and talks on video art, new media, audiovisual distribution, and digital media curatorial practices.
As a multimedia artist, since 2000 her research has evolved toward new digital media aesthetics and philosophical perspectives related to media, as well as art theories rooted in visual culture, with a particular focus on video archives and collective memory. A parallel strand of her theoretical research investigates the self-representation of media.
Since 2014, she has been teaching Multimedia Languages, Theories of the Audiovisual and Mass Media, and Theories of Creative Video Editing at the European Academy of Fine Arts of Media (ACME) in Novara, Italy, and regularly works as a guest lecturer at universities and academies in Italy and abroad.

 

Maila Buglioni (Rome, 1982) lives and works in Rome as an art historian and curator. After completing her Master’s degree in History of Contemporary Art at La Sapienza University of Rome, she undertook an internship as an educational operator at MAXXI – National Museum of 21st Century Arts, within the Educational Department.
She collaborated with Barbara Martusciello on the Book Corner Arti project, promoted by Art A Part of Cult(ure), as well as on the URBAN MEMORIES Street Art Festival in Gaeta and Terracina (2013), and on the Cinica Gallery project at Palazzo Lucarini Contemporary in Trevi.
She was a member of the curatorial collective ARTNOISE, responsible for the conception and curation of exhibitions, projects, and the web magazine (www.artnoise.it). She has also collaborated with various specialised art magazines and participated in the curatorial residency a,m,o – arte, Marche, edition 0, the biennial event dedicated to contemporary culture and art organised by the Sponge ArteContemporanea association in Pergola.
Maila Buglioni is the creator and curator of the exhibition project APPIA ANTICA ART PROJECT, distinguished by its innovative programme that introduced a new curatorial model based on the use of urban sites along the Appian Way. She has curated numerous exhibitions for emerging artists throughout Italy and has also exhibited her own work as an artist. Selected exhibitions include La Grande Illusione (curated by Manuela De Leonardis at the Art Gallery of Temple University Rome), Portafortuna, the inaugural exhibition of Spazio Y (Rome), and WOW! (curated by the artistic collective 100% contemporary).
In 2019, she participated in the conference General States of Art and Contemporary Art Education in Abruzzo – Centre / Periphery / Centre, organised by ABAQ in L’Aquila.
Maila Buglioni collaborates and writes for the print edition of Rivista Segno and is also the Editor-in-Chief of Segnonline.

 

Viola D’Ambrosio is an independent art curator and violinist. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in both Violin and Contemporary History in Italy, she moved to the United States where she received her Master’s in Arts and Cultural Leadership with a focus in Museum Studies. She has collaborated with various arts organizations, ranging from classical music institutions to art museums, co-curating visual art exhibitions and music performances. One example being More is More: The Lyndel King Collection, an exhibit working with interacting sound elements. She recently moved back to Italy where she is pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors.
